BRANDHAUS CAPITAL PARTNERS INVESTS IN ACCELERATE FC XVIII: Y COMBINATOR S17

BRANDHAUS CAPITAL PARTNERS is delighted to have made a recent investment in ACCELERATE FC XVIII: Y COMBINATOR S17, a fund investing in the summer 2017 batch of the highly successful Y Combinator accelerator program.

Y Combinator is a global venture capital seed fund and startup accelerator based in Silicon Valley, often referred to as the worlds most powerful start-up incubator. They have invested in a wide variety of technology startups all over the world, currently over 1,464 companies since their inception in 2005 and with a combined value in excess of $80 billion.

Twice a year, Y Combinator invests a small amount of money in a large number of start-ups. The startups move to Silicon Valley for 3 months, during which Y Combinator works intensively with them to get the company into the best possible shape and refine their pitch to investors. Y Combinator's, goal is to get start-ups through the first phase. This usually means to the point where founders have built something impressive enough to raise money on a larger scale. Y Combinator then introduces these start-ups to later stage investors—or occasionally even acquirers.

Commenting on the investment, BRANDHAUS CAPITAL PARTNERS CEO Martin Berry said "We are hugely excited at the opportunity to invest in such a successful accelerator". "Y Combinator are the pioneers in this space and have totally innovated the model for funding early stage start-ups". "Y Combinator has been involved in hugely successful start-ups including Dropbox, AirBnB, Reddit and Instacart to name a few".
